AlexAlexandra Morgan Carrasco is an American professional soccer player. She plays as captain and striker for San Diego Wave FC of the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL), the highest division of women's professional soccer in the United States, and the United States women's national soccer team.She co-captained the United States women's national soccer team alongside Carli Lloyd and Megan Rapinoe between 2018 until 2020. [8][99 Morgan was selected by the Western New York Flash at number one in the 2011 WPS Draft. She had completed her studies at Berkeley early. Morgan also played for California Golden Bears. She made her debut as a professional and assisted the team in winning the league championship. Morgan was just 22 at the time, and was the youngest member of the national team in the FIFA Women's World Cup 2011. The team came in second. In the 123rd min of the semifinal match against Canada at the 2012 London Olympics she scored the game-winning goal. She was second in the U.S. in having 20 assists and 28 goals for 2012, making her the sixth and youngest prolific player in the nation to score 20 goals in one year. She was then named U.S. Soccer Female Athlete of the Year , and was also a FIFA World Player of the Year finalist. Morgan played a role in helping to help the United States win the title at the 2015 FIFA Women's World Cups. She was also selected to the Dream Team. In 2019, Morgan won the Silver Boot.
